Does anyone know anything about Clonidine? I was given this to help quit my
Norco addiction. It was given to me by a doctor but I don't know anything
about it?

Thanks so much,

Hey there,

I have withdrawn from Norco too many times in the past few months .. I keep relapsing. Anyway, yes clonidine will help with the symptoms.. stomach probs, chills etc.. however it won't make you feel 100% Also this is a blood pressure medication so be really careful.. I took too many my first time, my idiot dr. said I could take 3 !! I was dizzy and almost passed out.. I was seeing spots all night so be careful and best of luck. I am coming up on 2 weeks and my cravings are enormous.. let's be strong together:-)

Thank you for your response. My name is also Rachel. I have also tried to
quit about 50 times. Well, the Clonidine knocked me out but it did seem to
help my stomach quite a bit. This sucks though man. I am dreading this. If I
didn't have a 2 1/2 year old I would not be trying to stop but I do and I feel
terrible about my habit with this stuff. I can get it so easily off the internet
that the discipline behind this will have to be remarkable. How long have you
been on the stuff and how much do you take?

Thanks again for your response. You have no idea how much I appreciate it.

All the best to you,

Rachel

I take clonidine for blood pressure..I don't know how your dr told you to take..but I take mine at night about 1 hour prior to bedtime..it does knock you out...I hope you are doing well...I have never heard of the drug you were on. My sister is hooked on painkillers and I am looking for advice..just ran across this and thought I would offer the advice on when I take my medicine.

Clonidine is mainly to keep your blood pressure under control.I've tried it in the past, but that was the only symtom that I felt alleviated.
Good Luck

Hey there fellow Rachel:-)

Sorry for the delay in my reply, I'm usuall on the general board so I haven't been over here in a while.. fyi there is much more activity over there. Anyway I was taking 20-30 sometimes more (I kind of lost count on purpose) Norcos per day for about a year. I decided in January that I wanted to quit but it was easier said than done. I wound up in 4 rehabs/ detox centers since that time and continuously came out swearing I could stay clean only to fail in a matter of days somtimes weeks. I finally decided to try Methadone since nothing else was working.. since starting methadone I have been clean 6 weeks TODAY!! I honestly didn't think i'd ever be able to say that. I know methadone is not for everyone and i'm be no means pushing you to try it but for me it's been a life saver. I still have some cravings but they are minimal .. I go days without thinking about those little yellow pills and that is a miracle! Please email me if you want to chat more and please let me know how your doing.. have you quit? Hope you're doing well:-)

I am trying to get off Norco myself & it is hard. I see lots of people on here saying how easy they got it online but I never could but 1 time & before they ould give a refill they wanted me to fax recent medical records, which I didn't have. How does everyone else do it? I have tried to quit before also but is hard. I hope we both make it. I will pray we do. I would love to hear back from you.
