Hello. I am new here.
I have been abusring Neurontin (Gabapentin) for many years now. I am up to 30,000mg per day.
Originally prescribed as a mood stabilizer and for anxiety, it was promised safe and non-addictive.
In the past, when I tried to stop, I suffered terrible.

Does anyone know of anyone who specializes in Neurontin detox and all that?

Has anyone else here suffered form addiction to this drug?

I need help fasr. Please email me.

Thanks

WOW! First I ever heard of this.
I am not too sure but if you would cold turkey off of them I would think it might send you into seizures, be careful and go to the general board and post this. Someone there may know more about it.

be careful with that stuff there, I wouldn't mess around with a dose that big.

you can inform your ignorant doctor that it is possible to develop extremely high tolerance to neurontin, in the same way someone can develop extremely high tolerance to other drugs. i had tolerance to 300 micro per hour of fentanyl which is equivalent to 1100 mg of morphine over 24 hours and i still felt fucked up and could tolerate more. this is enough to kill a very large elephant and i was walking around on this dose for a few years. so then, your dumb ass dictor is a moron.

to the person who is ingesting this insane amount of neurontin, if you happen to pass by here and read, you need to go to the hospital asap. this drug causes seizures if withdrawn quickly and to get off safely and live from this extreme dose, you need to be hospitalized.

Greetings, found this site when trying to find out about Neurontin.

I was injured back in '93 while working as a police officer.

Following three back surgeries, I ended up on permanant total disabilty

Since that time I have been on all sorts of drugs for the pain of the failed back surgery.

My current doctor put me on Neurontin for nerve pain, I am also on Duragesic 75's, Vicodin and just got off Flexeral after taking that drug from the week of that injury back in '93.

The last month or so following my doc taking me off Neurontin and putting me on Licra as a replacemetn, I have been going through pure hell.

I have night sweats that soak my PJ's and the bed, hours of shakes, hot and cold alternating with my body telling me that when it is hot I will be cold and when cold I will be hot. Sometimes these flashes may happen three or four times an hour.

My doc thinks it is the Duragesic so we have been changing from generic to the brand name, from 75's back to 50' and back on the 75's again.

Yesterday after three days and nights of pure hell, no sleep increased back pain, and shakes, I dug out my old bottle of Neurontin (the side effects were great back when I was on them with a very fuzzy head that went away when I went off this drug) and took one.

I had my first night's sleep with only one intruption, and my pain decreased, and my bowels stopped hurting (they have been painfull since shortly after going off Neurontin) and I feel almost human once again. Took another this morning. The fuzzy head is back but not as bad.

I wanted to get off these drugs as my amature writting lead to one of my short stories being published in an anthology. It was a story I wrote before going on the higer drug dosages and Neurontin. I want a clear head again now so I can return to my writting, as I haven't been able to keep a plot line in my head with all the fuzzyness.

Anyone else had this problem with Neurontin?

I know when I went on the drug, it cleard up my colon pain that I have had since the early 80's, and when I went off, the pain came back after about a month of no Neurontin.

I too had difficulties with Nerontin. I could not think when I was on that med. I know there are many people on the General board that know a great deal about this med and many others. No one really comes to the treatment board anymore. Come post on the General board and you will get a lot of help. Hope to see you there.
